A couple of days ago, an IRL friend remarked (as constructive criticism) that I haven't really improved much in the past few years. She's pretty much right, and it's bugged me even before she mentioned it.

I need to get back into drawing. Lifedrawing classes would certainly not go amiss.

Also, I need to finish tidying my room. But that's a whole other genre of Things I Need To Get Done.

In the space of two hours, two of my rats have died, leaving the last one, Stan, to wander about the cage bewildered and wondering where his brothers have went.

What the fuck, universe.

I wish I could get over this cloud of emo mood that's been plaguing me these past few weeks(months?). I don't think it's normal practice to burst into tears while watching Kiki's Delivery Service.

Also, I've been fighting a losing battle with my fishtank lid these past few weeks. The lights are busted, and even though I've changed both bulbs and both starter plugs, the goddamn thing STILL isn't working. Sigh. (The tank gets sunlight for part of the day, though, so the plants won't die at least.)

On the bright side, I got the DVD of Kung Fu Panda while buying the new starter plugs, and that film is pure distilled pretty-art-style-eye-candy artistic inspiration for me. I might go looking for the art book when I've got the money for it. Plus, I finally got that Japanese Peace Lilly I wanted. My room is kind of starting to resemble a rainforest. XD Including my mum's pepper plant, I have seven pots with plants in them in here now. Sure, the sensitive plant is basically dying, but the parlor palm contains an unidentified trailing plant with green-and-white leaves as well and I'm on the lookout for another Venus fly trap, so.

And on the brighter side yet, I finally got VLC player to screencap properly without crashing! OH GOD, THE POWER. I AM TOTALLY WATCHING ALL MY ANIMATED FILMS (All four of them excluding the Ghibli films? Oh how ambitious of you Holly) AGAIN SOMETIME SOON AS THAT BECOMES WAY MORE FUN WHEN I CAN STOP MID-MOVIE AND MAKE A RIDICULOUS ICON OR SILLY MACRO.

Okay, so despite the fact that two of my friends told me not to, I played that Spyro game.

It was terrible. Not in the "OH GOD, IT BURRRNS!" way, but more in the "Gee, this game is rather sucky!" way. Although I'm being VERY lenient here because the music was very pretty and the game style kind of reminded me of Legend of Kay. And dammit, I LIKED Legend of Kay. :C

So, jewelery sale on Saturday? Fail. I only sold one piece. X_X) Also, someone parked in front of the van of the guy I was carpooling with, meaning I had to stand in the pouring rain and help him carefully inch his way out.

Also, I finished the storyline in Saint's Row 2. (Dane Vogel was a pushover; but I think that's because I fucking love piloting the attack helicopter. DAT'S SOME FUN SHIT RIGHT THERE.) I have a new game waiting to distract me - Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon - But as the first reaction I've had from the two different people I've told this was along the lines of "Oh Jesus Christ, Holly, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!", I'm not expecting too much.

And of course it's at this point I remember I have yet to play Portal or either of the Ty games, plus there's a copy of World of Warcraft laying around uninstalled somewhere as well. WHY DO I INUNDATE MYSELF WITH UNNECESSARY THINGS TO DO LIKE THIS DX

Most other fish inserted into that tank do FINE. Oshare!Betta was doing great in his little bowl until I decided he'd be better off in the tank, and I found him dead today. The laptop suddenly decided to work after a full day. I kind of wish I could choke it for freaking me out like that, but at least EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL. 8D

My laptop's malfunctioning fan finally fucked me over this afternoon and died on me without me noticing, causing the laptop to overheat and die.

I can only hope my files are recoverable, but to be honest, good riddance to the actual hardware. The CD drive was fucked, the headphone jack was cantankerous, and I've had problems with that fan for over a year now.

The files, such as the fuckton of irreplaceable screencaps, LJ icons, things I drew and cat macros, however, I would like back a lot.

Next time, I'm keeping EVERYTHING on the external drive. X_x

Really, losing two rats in the space of one month would be VERY shit, but at least Milly will most likely go in her sleep as opposed to having to be put down. D:

And by that, I mean going to the vet and not coming back. She's not herself, and it's been getting worse and worse and we don't care to see her deteriorate any further.

...We're taking Milly for a checkup at the same time. I just hope she's okay, because if something really bad comes up with her I don't think I'll stop crying for a month.

So now Milly's all run down and off her food and such. D: I'm just hoping it's just that she's getting old, but Mum reckons she's got myco.
